Routledge going is a major blow in my opinion.
He was consistently excellent last season and a major reason we ended up whee we did.
His inventiveness and work rate were much needed and I'm not sure who's going to replace that currently.
As an aside, I always cringe when people talk about 'loyalty'.
There's not a man or woman on this board who wouldn't accept a pay rise for themselves and their family to carry on doing the same thing as they are doing now at a different firm.
Routledge owes the club nothing. He came on a salary and was expected to work hard and produce the goods for that money. He did that in spades last year. What's the loyalty or greed thing?
I changed jobs last year. I moved for a number of reasons. One of which was more money. It's strange that people would think it is somehow different for footballers.
Granted if you're getting £200K a week then money might be the least of your considerations, but at Routledge's level, with his career finishing in a few years time, I would imagine every penny counts, just like the rest of us.
Make hay while the sun shines. If QPR aren't prepared to fork out then I can't see why Swansea isn't a better bet for him.
