Good going forward but poor at the back. We haven't invested in the backline and it will cost us imo.
I understand what your saying mate I also think are back four are very weak for prem standard (especially orr) but come on lets enjoy the positives.

Although JB and DJ suffice, you are imo spot- on with the defence. We need better Moreover we were overrun in midfield by the Hornets so the Prem propect is scary.

well yes - Graham is better than both of them, and Crouch suits our system better than anyone else.

If in May it had been said that Bothroyd / DJ would be our striker signings I think you would have found a lot of dissent.

          Also we ain't playing a front 2

Danny Graham and Shane Long would have been better than Jay Bothroyd and DJ Campbell, but they are better than Helguson and Hulse.

Agreed Paul, but they would have cost probably in excessive of £10mill, whereas DJ and Jay have cost 1.25, so value for money wise weve got a much better deal.

Neither Long not Graham are PL proven either, at least with DJ we know we can find the net in this league.

No one is moaning, but I think most people would expect Bothroyd to play up front on his own, as he is bigger and holds the ball up better that DJ, who likes playing on the shoulder of the last defender.

Helguson is still the best player we have in the air, never expected much more than Bothroyd and Campbell both of them are quality finishers and that's what we've been missing more than anything. The amout of times Tarbs created wasted opportunities, if we had either of the two we signed last season Taarabt would of got over 30 bloody assists.

I honestly didn't expect as good as bothroyd and DJ. I was thinking it would be CMS and someone from the lower half of the championship when the window opened so I'm pleasantly surprised, **** that I'm very happy! Like weare said tho, the defence does need sorting - despite all the clean sheets, they never convinced me they were good players. Discipline and desire gets you so far ie to the prem, but to stay in it - we need a bit more

The problem with the DJ signing is it does not fit the system. Warnock is very much a system man and he rarely deviated from it last season. So DJ is not going to be the hold up player which means he has to be in the 3 behind Bothroyd or Helgusson, and whilst it does give us a different option he is not proven in that position. With regards to CMS, IMHO he was a better fit to the system played in a three for Peterboro often on the left and very much in the Mackie mold but with a better goal scoring record.
