Me and the old man left on 80 odd minutes at 3-5. As a small kid I swore him never to leave a ground early again and lo and behold it paid off a few years later against Port Vale

although everyone and their dog claims to have been at that port vale game I was there with my brother, actually suggested to him to pi** off home at half-time and would of but had parked the car right outside the ground and was boxed in
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

My mate wanted leave at half time but I persuaded him to stay, so glad I did. When Gary Micklewhite scored with about 30 seconds left, he could not of thanked me any more for making him stay, what a game.
Opinions are like A******s, everyone has one, but nobody wants to see the other guy's.

Nearly went at half time, but for some mad reason we stayed , back then i sat up in the famous block f in S.A.R. nearest to the away end in those days, and the faces of those geordies at full time was a picture, i have the game on good old vhs but no sound, brought it in the club shop a few weeks after the game, much the same at port vale 4-0 at half time....and well you know the rest.

I was well pleased when so many left at half time. Lower Loft was so much more comfy in the second half

i'd bunked off work to go..was gonna leave at half time..got as far as the turnstile in the loft and thought nah i'll stay and at least if we lose by 10 (which was a distinct possibilty) at least i could say i was there. Best decision i have ever made..never left a game early since..inc port vale away!!

Was with my girlfriend (now wife) and was adamant I wanted to go at HT. It was one of her first games and she wanted to stay - which we did.
