No way your missus/mate should get members benefits without being a member.....

I think it is a bit uneccessary to be honest. Those mates people bring are 90% of the time going to be QPR fans that can't go often, so don't get a membership.

        exactly.

After reading the comments here, I *can* see the argument the other way as well. However, £80 is a hell of a lot to fork out on membership when you might go to 6-8 games a year. Be nice if they had released a 'joint membership' option for maybe £50-£60 or something. Fat chance though, obviously.

The other annoying part is that the policy change was not made obvious when purchasing.

fkng annoying as my mrs and daughter want to come along to a few games but cant guarantee getting the tickets near me (though as somone pointed out them not being able to come maybe not a bad thing)
Good point, recall the same, an outcry that s/t holders and members had first dibs at getting extra tckts prior to general sale. Message board was full of people fuming they couldn't get tickets because of preferential treatment given to st/ members. Now the club do something about it the opposite argument surfaces.
Membership at £40 not bad IMHO went to Thorpe park on Friday with wife and child cost me £110 just to get in to have the pleasure to queue for 30 min for crap rides and witness hoodies running amok, made HQ look like a bargain and a Cathedral of tranquility in comparison.

If you was a member...& wanted a ticket say for instance for your son whose 8 & not a member, would you still have to wait for general sale in the knowledge that your son may not be sitting next?

The ticketing system is confusing, my guess is if he's not got a junior membership then you'll have to wait for general sale. It appears members are no longer entitled to an extra ticket.
S/t holders appear to be entitled to one extra home ticket (from six last yr) if they have signed up to super hoop, that extra ticket IMO can be purchased prior to general sale.
The ticketing system appears to be being made up as they go along.

Correct, you would have to wait for general sale to buy your son a ticket.

                  Ummm....

Sorry if I'm missing something here, but surely "one ticket per member" is VERY fair and equitable?

If this policy wasn't enforced, you run the risk of a non member (friend/relative of member) getting a ticket before a paid up member. If a non member got a ticket before I did for say Chelsea or Utd at home, I'd be mighty pee'd off.

                  What's wrong with that?

And I thank you. As I read through this thread, I was trying to work out how to word it without being rude.

I'm still massively f**ked off at the amount of c**ts around me at the Leeds game, who were there mucking about, talking pony and not paying attention to the game at all. I knew a few people who couldn't get tickets for that game, and they would have made much better use for those tickets. If this rule was enforced last season, we wouldn't have had that.

To the author of this thread...If your missus and mate want a ticket, get them to buy a membership. That way, when you call to buy one, you can do both over the phone and get them next to eachother.
                      Your mum would love me...

Completely agree - 3 of us have all renewed memberships and have told those who only attend a few games to buy a membership or run the risk of sitting in another part of the ground. This is completely fair and as you say will avoid the Leeds fiasco happening all over again.

As I said....I do see the other side of the argument. I guess that if Season Ticket Sales + Member Sales etc means that actually, there aren't a huge amount of tickets left, then perhaps it is unfair to allow more than 1 ticket per member. I can see that.

I would not want my '2nd ticket' to deprive another member of a ticket - that is for certain. Perhaps that is now the situation we are in - in which case - fair play.

I don't have the opportunity to go to many games - buying membership was a way to help ensure that I could get to go to the games I wanted to, when I am able to. And it was nice to take the Mrs. As I said, would be nice to have a slightly cheaper 'joint' membership option - or similar.

Anyway, not trying to ruffle feathers here! This was a change in policy from last year that was not made obvious when purchasing the renewal, which frustrated me. No one likes a benefits downgrade

renewed memberships for me and my boy, £ 65. with the membership discount you will get the money back after 8 games, plus you will get £10 to spend in the shop and a few freebies, have to say its a very good deal.

So you are happy to pay NOT to watch games?

There are those that are very unhappy with £34 for a seat.

I'm not saying you would at all, but there are many cases where this can, and will happen.
