If his legs can hold out, then yes. What do you think?

Protected the back four & at the same time allowed AT the time & space to do his thing superbly last year & more of the same required now imo. Saying that Jimmy Bullard although slightly more attacking than Derry would also be a good foil should we get him.

I think Derry knows Taarabt's game, he knows where to position himself when Adel loses the ball, he knows how to keep the shape when Adel changes it. Most off all with Derry on the pitch, we have someone to step in and stop situations from boiling over involving Adel. Derry on the pitch IMO is like having an extension of Warnock's persona keeping everyone in check.

Must start IMO as for Yousef's comment above, do even watch Rangers!

Now Adel is staying...yes, Derry has a big part to play. Those two suit one another perfectly.

Yes I did last season. He was impressive. I am questioning his ability to face tougher PL midfielders.

Agree with every word of that.

Claude Makele played that role superbly at the same age, so hopefully Shaun can too.

Well having never seen him face these sort of midfielder's, instead of making assumptions maybe you should wait and see.

You don't need to be world class to mix with world class players when you're in Derry's role. His in-your-face style of play will push players back and force them into errors. Couple that with his ball winning skills, and you'll see a player who'll do well with class around him.

The like's of Holloway and Barker use to do a job...

Lots of posters making assumptions about the quality of PL midfielder's, granted there are some good ones but how many off us have seen them play live, little bit different to watching them on the box.

Why do people drag up players like Gerrard, Parker, Lampard these are but are few, are people honestly thinking we are going to go out and purchase players of this calibre just to be able to compete???

i appreciate the points made but dont agree with them

the game is won and lost in that position and whiulst derry is a very good championship player, I personally dont think he is Premiership standard.

yes he would do better with better players around him BUT as we can see, he doesnt have those players around him....he will need to be twice as good to carry the rest of the team..ALA Steven Gerrard.....

I think Faulin will make an impact but just think derrys fitness, age, ability and all round game will not be good enough....I RERALLY wish it was !!!

                              IMO
