Sell him for £10million. Let us face facts. Adel is only good when he has the ball and service. How is he going to get the ball next season? Our other 9 outfield players are going to be chasing shadows for 85 minutes unless we buy some better players.

NW wouldn't get £10M to spend becuase Spurs have a big sell-on clause. Maybe even as high as 40-50%.
HR is no fool and he knew the potential was there, but he didn't have the time in the PL to nurture Taarabt.
However, I would not want to sell him even for £20M.
QPR will need his creativity skills to score goals. Not many goals = a relegation scrap.
Yes, he will sulk, yes he will have tantrums, but he will create chances, he will score, and above all, he will entertain us.
If we are paying stupid admission prices, then the very least we deserve is some entertainment from QPR players and not just to watch opposing team's star players run rings around QPR.
I would rather QPR try and build a team around Taarabt & Faurlin than sell them to buy workhorses.Last edited by stanistheman; 15-06-2011, 01:52 PM.

Quite a dilema.
£10.6m now but miss out on seeing what he's capable of in the Premiership for us.
Or give him until January.
If he does well, his value will double.
If not, it will halve at least.
Bear in mind Spurs sell on % is 25, not 40
Adel was single handedly responsible for about 60% of our league goals last season, not 40. 19 goals, 22 assists.
He's still very young, how many Team Captains can you name at 21 ?
I'd keep him, i LOVE it when he gets the ball.....

If Harry thought he could have ever done the business for Tottenham he would have kept him and simply sent him out on loan to a Championship club. He didn't because when he is not getting his own way he is a bad influence. There is a massive difference between the Championship and the Premier or why are we all going spare because we haven't made several signings. Yes he was instrumental in getting us into the Prem but whether he can have the same influence is very debatable and we all know when its not going for him he is at best uninterested.Originally posted by stanistheman View PostNW wouldn't get £10M to spend becuase Spurs have a big sell-on clause. Warnock knows this and will sell at the right price if he can, suspect much of this transfer speculation is his agent as most in football are fully aware of his problems but you never know. To be honest Warnock looks like he is already sorting his replacement in Bullard, who he would find difficultly in fitting into a system with Tarrabt.
Defo sell if we can get 10 million even if 2.5 will go to spurs.

If Santos' Neymar is priced at £30 million, then im sorry, £10 million is a disgrace!! These are entertaining footballers with pure skill! Bent went for like £24 million didnt he!! That Henderson has just gone to Liverpool for £20 Million. I wouldnt even want to swap Henderson or Bent for Taarabt!! Taarabt a much better player! Im glad we rejected the bid! We'd be mugs if we let him go for that cheap. I know there stupid price tags, but thats the footballing market for you, so lets get with the times. Dont forget were a Premier League club now, we should be selling at PL prices

He is a gifted talent YES ....BUT....
He is NOT a leader and he is NOT a team player !!
He was given the arm band by NW to satisfy his over inflated ego .
Sean Derry was the skipper on the pitch last season and I am fairly sure the rest of the players saw it that way too.

What many seem to forget is many of the players mentioned that have gone for big money have proved themselves at the top level (even Henderson and Jones), Tarrabt has not, in fact he failed to make it with Tottenham and we only signed him because no one else wanted him. He was and is a disruptive influence and please don't kid yourselves that the other players like it they merely except it because they are told to do. The better players we all want to attract certainly will not when he is strolling around because someone would not pass him the ball.Originally posted by taarabt7 View PostIf Santos' Neymar is priced at £30 million, then im sorry, £10 million is a disgrace!! Then how about Andy Carroll!? He played a handful of good games for Newcastle in the PL, and went for £30 million!!! How about Neymar at Santos? He's young, had 1 good season with Santos and is now worth over £30 million!! How about Nani, going to United from Sporting Lisbon for about £17million. Is the Portuguese league that strong!? Taarabt is one of the best young and up and coming players in the world I rekon. Taarabt is 10 times better than Walcott and he signed for Arsenal from Southampton for £12.5 million and only played a handful of games for Southampton in the Championship!!! Get with the times!!! Taarabt is worth more than £10 million in these times of football. I dont want to pay a load of money to watch us play dire football!! Warnock built the team round Taarabt, and thats why we became Champions. The other teams worried enough about how they would deal with Taarabt, it then gave the other players on the field more freedom to go out and play. He was the key to our success. We cant let him go for so cheap and get 2 or 3 Lee Bowyers. That wont keep us up

Can't really agree with you there, Odemwingie kept WBA up, flair player. Bolton and Stoke are established teams in the premiership now with overall quality better players, Elmander and K. Jones for a start. The only example you can point to is West Ham, individually, more than capable of staying up but they didn't because of their manager, not their style of football.Originally posted by paulmason View PostAreWe, you say that grafters do not keep teams in the PL, so what leagues do Bolton, Stoke, Wolves and West Brom (under RH) and a few others play in or are you saying they are flair teams ?

You are way overstating how good he is I'm afraid but I do agree he is worth more than 10mil, the exact reason teams are supposedly bidding that and not alone, teams want to buy at this stage of the season to wrap up deals they want to get first as they know or feel its a good deal. The teams are coming for Adel as they like him and like what he is about and are willing to pay the money for it. If we have rejected the bid then the amount of teams that come back with bigger bids will really tell us how much he is worth and how much other clubs value him.Originally posted by taarabt7 View PostThen how about Andy Carroll!? Maddix,
You miss my point, I was pointing out Adel youthful age.
Jones & Henderson have both gone for considerably more but offered less than Taarabt.
Making him Captain may have been a cosmetic move by NW (which was justified by promotion) but to credit only Derry as 'the real captain' is insulting to at least a couple of other regulars. Hill & Helguson to start with.
Derry, like many of the squad helped Adel to perform and contribute to the point he was named 'Championship Player of the Year/Season' (whichever)
So I'm kidding no one, least of all myself.
Like all geniuses, he's floored. But at 21 and with Warnocks guidance and 'support', he could be something really special, who fans will talk about for decades to come, like Bowles (my favourite) and Marsh.
In my mind, he's already above Currie, Stainrod, Byrne. And on a pqr with Wegerle.
I'll go one step further - give him the #10 shirt, Buzz was worthy, but Adel is now more worthy.
Of course, many don't like him, and would rather have 11 Derrys.
They'll never be convinced. I now accept that.
But in years to come, when I look back on last season, I'll be thinking of Adel's goals against Watford, Swansea (twice, but you know which one mostly), Cardiff (x3), and his passes to HH v Scunny and Routledge v Cov City, etc.
Not Derrys great tackles in virtually every game.
Shaun (and others) were outstanding, but Adel was magnificent (and frustrating at times)
I really hope I get to say the same again this time next year.
I've a hunch, I may not be able to re:Derry. Happy to be 50% wrong though.
