Defo worth a shout and I could see it happening due to two key words

FREE, and, TRANSFER.

However, what counts against this deal progressing is that Celtic, Everton etc all far bigger clubs than us. Don't think anyone is saying he is Rooney or Defoe but when was the last time we had a current England international at Loftus Rd: Terry Fenwick? At the level of player we are looking at he would be a good signing. Would imo also need a nippy striker as well (DJ Campbell type, Dos Santos in my dreams) but would be a great addition to the strike force.

One word of caution: wouldn't get too taken in by the "free" tag. He'll be looking at a million and a half a year wages plus a hefty signing on fee to make up for the fact he's "free" so would still represent a significant outlay, particularly if the likes of Everton are bumping up the price.
