Calling these blokes "neanderthals" achieves absolutely nothing.They would probably just laugh if they heard it.
The point is,they are passionate QPR fans,who,in their minds,were defending our club,our fans,our home.
for some of them,the whole thing is a big game,a game of strategy..outwitting police and rival firms,and it gives them a huge sense of excitement.if you bothered to talk to any of them you may be surprised,they are normal people with jobs,families etc etc.the other thing you may find surprising is that a lot of them (not all)don't actually want SERIOUS violence and are concerned if anyone gets badly hurt.
It's part of the game and will never go away.
Not condoning it,but there it is.

The problem is when you allow any level of tolerance by saying thats just the way it is and they are football fans.

I don't believe they are real football fans and shouldn't be accepted as such in the same way that racism should never be tolerated in the game either.

If the posts of "fans" of other clubs coming down to the game are true would you call them "real football fans"?

I'm not condoning it either. As previously explained, believe it or not I did not use the term 'Neanderthal' in any derogatory sense; to stimulate debate, maybe, which it has done. Like I say, I meant it in the tribalistic sense, which nobody can deny exists. Even this is not necessarily a thing to be critical of per se, but merely just an anthropological observation as acriketer and I pointed out.

I honestly have nothing against these people at all. Like you say they are normal people with jobs and families. I know that.

Goddard makes the point that "they are REAL football fans". A reply to that would be "real football fans" who dont actually pay attention to the "football" on the pitch, which to many sounds a complete contradiction, as if you had asked any of them at the end of the game about the match itself they wouldn't have been able to tell you. Again, dont take this as a criticism, just an observation.

So i'm dense eh! Just because i didn't notice you had re posted saying it was in your line of vision, if i had noticed that i wouldn't have made the comment, (i'm not that stupid) it was solely based on what you first put.
It makes sense now seeing that.

Just one thing though, if you are going to make a comment about saying i am dense because i clearly have difficulties grasping written English, should you not be practicing what you preach? difficuties lol

Just as side note to the above, I also noticed a QPR father and son being forced to leave the game early because their fellow QPR fans were stood up for the entire game so the kid couldnt see a thing. Naturally he was devasted. Again, JUST an observation.

I don't think anyone's purchase of a ticket to a game gives them any clout over what the others that have bought one should watch/do/say. If some want to watch the other end of the ground ( or perhaps perv over Naomi and Kate in the directors' box) rather than stay glued to the football that'd be their own call wouldn't it?

Personally I am sort of glad Millwall got some intimidation thrown back in their faces. They were giving it large and if we all sit back we'd be like some sort of Palace/ gay fenerbache outfit
