    90 Million gamble

Seriously underwhelmed with today. Feels like a huge step backwards.

We can now sit back and watch us slowly fall away from the top of the table and we'll all be moaning and whinging again over the next 4 months, yes 4 months till January, saying we desperately need a striker.

Serious questions need to be asked of our Director Of Football or whatever his title is these days. Our own manager has said for the last 4 months that we need at least 2 strikers and they have delivered nothing. Incredible. Deserves to be sacked in my opinion. Considering that is his only worthwhile role.

Other clubs fans will be feeling the same but they will have finances as a reasonable excuse. Paladini and team there really is no excuse.

By not signing 2 strikers we will NOT be going up. £5 million will be a drop in the ocean if promotion was won with the Premiership purse worth £90 million.

It calls into question the reason for 'investment' in our club. It doesn't make sense on any level, except if the club wanted to remain 'under the radar' by remaining in the Championship.

    Gutted.

Who would you suggest is to blame then? Fans?

Please don't give me the players didn't want to come. We have started brilliantly, got richest owners in the division and have the most highly respected Championship manager..... shall I go on?

It is simple for me. We have too many players on long contracts with high wages (Agyemang/Vine/Borrowdale/Alberti/Pellicori) who nobody wants or can afford and therefore we cannot 'afford' to pay the wages of new players.

Now if this is the case then then people responsible for handing out these ridiculous contracts in the first place need to be accountable. Its like trying to catch sharks with maggots as bait.

            No.

Manager and I are in agreement, not without 2 strikers.

weve signed 1 winger and a striker who both have experience of getting teams out of this division. we were never going to spend £5million on a striker and we are still top, whats the problem?

Its not always about individuals or breaking the bank, its about having a good manager, team spirit, having the right blend of players in the right positions and playing as a team. This is what NW is gradually building piece by piece. For those doubting Thomas' (like the poster above) that still remain, my advice would be to just keep quiet, relax and enjoy the ride ahead.

i was being positive saying we have signed 2 players who have the experience of being promoted and know what to do to get there?

we have added better players than what we currently have, that is the main thing, im confident that the hulse signing will really get us more goals.
