Good post. I wonder about Gerrard as Platt didn't do much but score, but otherwise v hard to disagree. As said above, we didn't realise just how good that team was. It annoys me when I hear commentators say "our players are great, they just don't turn it on in an England shirt". Most are actually merely good, we have no one of real genius

Commentators, pundits, ex pros always singing from the same song sheet rarely showing any bottle to ruffle a few feathers and tell the truth.

I'd take Klose, Poldolski, Muller and Schweinsteiger easilly, and very possibly Ozil.

I'm not a fan of Lahm and don't rate the rest of their defence.
