Just didn't work out here did it? Shame, looked like a good signing on paper but he never clicked/settled. Hard to imagine there's any fee at all but just having him off the books and clearing the decks for everyone to move on is a satisfactory outcome.
Be interesting to see what we do with Kolli and Lloyd now, it's definitely now or never territory for them in terms of being bona fide 1st team squad players, they can't keep being dev squad players who step up occasionally - they need to fully break through this season (and I hope they do).Comment

Charlie Kelman is 25 in 3 months, he had season long loans at Gillingham and Wigan before finally falling on his feet at Orient by being surrounded with good Premiership loans which enabled him to score 20 goals and a decent transfer fee.
Alfie Lloyd just turned 23 a couple of months ago and has been plagued by injuries for the last two seasons. Rayon Kolli will be 22 in February, I don’t understand why you think it’s now or never for both players.Comment

I think Celar had an eye for goal but admittedly we didn’t see the best of him. We have tended (generally) not to provide our central forwards with the supply they need. Although we have improved a little, same goes for Kone really, but he does work hard.Comment

Agree it is hard for strikers at Loftus Road. Despite any number of so called creative players and winger types we struggle to create anything much for our forwards. Think Burrell and Kone did very well last season and would have scored more elsewhere. Frustrating thing is just imagine how good they could be with regular and meaningful service.Comment

I totally agree with you. I thought it was obvious I was talking about their QPR careers... they either cement a place here this season or they follow the Kelman path out of the club. We must have other youngsters coming through, we can't have a bottleneck of rookies aged 23/24 making sluggish progress creating a bottleneck in the supply chain of kids progressing through the ranks. They both need to make the step-up sharpish in my view, this season they need to be matchday squad regulars getting minutes as subs and starting when we have injuries/suspensions. You mention their ages in mitigation I presume? Vale is 22, Kone has just turned 23... I suggest that it's entirely reasonable to expect a player of 22ish to be able to cut-it as a fully fledged 1st team member. Bennie and Morgan seem to be at more-or-less ar the same point in career trajectory here as Kolli and Lloyd but they're only 20. I can't see how anyone could not view Kolli and Lloyd as running out of time here - I sincerely hope they feel that way and are girding themselves to force their way into contention this season.Comment

The way you like to over egg talk about both players would suggest they have never been part of the match day squad, Kolli has 50+ appearances and Lloyd 30+ appearances, it’s clearly injuries that have prevented them playing more regularly for the first team.
In both cases a season away on loan where both players would be expected to start most matches would potentially add more to their game experience rather than being subbed on for the final 20mins.Comment

Last season,
Saito, 30 shots, 3 goals.
Dembele, 42 shots, 1 goal.
Chair, 32 shots, 1 goal.
Varanne, 17 shots, 1 goal.
Vale, 48 shots, 4 goals
Smyth, 45 shot, 6 goals.
Burrell, 35 shots, 10 goals, fabulous rate.
Kone, 92 shot, 10 goals, he needs to improve.
Stop shooting from distance, get ball into box for Burrell.
