  • FA Cup Third Round Draw this weekend

It's coming round again... 2nd round taking this place this weekend so they'll do 3rd round draw Sunday or Monday (it's unconfirmed exactly when).

The 3rd round is weekend of 10th January but it being football that means Thursday to Monday cos loadsa games on TV.

I wouldn't mind a trip to Spurs or West Ham just to sample a new stadium but beyond that I'm underwhelmed. Knowing our luck it will be away to Carlisle, shifted to noon on Sunday.

Given JS has an obsession about resting players I'd assume our 3rd string will be turning out.

Ah, it's Ronny Radford, Mikey Thomas and the romance of the FA Cup time again.

    I could crush a grape!

Ah yes the Annual humiliation has come round again. Can't wait to see who we give a bye into the fourth round to this year.

Yes it's a shame we always feel so negative when this comes around but such negativity is well founded.
I guess it says something about our ambitions and outlook.

Guess you've all expressed my thoughts.

Here we go again. Be nice to know who's going to knock us out this year as we field a scratch team giving a half hearted attempt to get through to a next round we're little interested in.

          Whopppeeee.

Get a winnable game, progress to next round, get a TV game against a struggling "big boy" (say Leeds or Everton) who are focusing on the league, give 'em a good match, Burrell scores, Chair gets MoM, we get a bit of cash AND add a zero to the value of a couple players whilst the January window is open.

Baffles me why the club spurns this opportunity for money AND exposure EVERY year since 1982.....

Quite - says a lot about us I fear. I grew up a 2 club man QPR and my local side (then), Hayes, now Hayes and Yeading. Strong QPR links with Les and Cyrille. Now there's a club who, not having gone forward, have really gone backwards. I remember regularly playing the likes of Sutton United and others who have really moved on. Indeed Wealdstone who have progressed nicely, used to be considered a lesser club. Congratulations to them by the way. Maybe there is a long term lesson here about outlook and ambition. Ignore at your peril.

Gave up being interested in this competition years ago.
doesn't matter who we get in the draw we'll probably get stuffed.
And I'll have the #### taken out of me for a week at work.
I just want him to put out a strong team and show some heart.

At least we haven't got the stress of having to worry about the fourth round.

Don't ticket prices reflect the lack of interest? £10 a pop or am I imagining that....or mixing it up with the League Cup?

It never makes sense to me why successive managers dismiss the FA cup ....
We ain't going down we ain't going up , so why not give us some happy memories along the way ..
Play your best 11 and give it a shot .

I want us to win every game we play , i know that's not possible with Rangers but at least give it a go. I have always loved the cups , a chance to go to new grounds was always a great atmosphere , sadly the premier league has ruined all that but if you offered me the choice i would always prefer to win a cup , with a great day out at Wembley. If this club does the same as they did at Plymouth this year and puts out our development squad , then i'm done , they will cease to exist in my mind, it will be hard but i cannot accept that #### from our club. Like others say , try your hardest , win a few games get a good draw and earn some money and respect because we have been a laughing stock for too long.

There have been plenty on here who were really concerned about relegation. Some still think it's possible after every defeat. We have been very close to the edge in recent seasons, and maybe this is the first time since the Warb years that mid-table seems more likely than trying to hit 18-21st.

Hopefully youre right, and as a midtable side, a fit squad and a bit of quality on the bench for a change, we might make a better fist of it this time around. If the jnjuries start to pile up before the first FA Cup game then we may go into self-preservation mode.

A mid-table and self-financing club is easier to sell, so relegation would be a disaster for the owners. Any sniff that is possible and the cups become irrelevant.

We should put out a strong team whatever the draw, build a winning mentality, I've really disliked our attitude to cup games for many years. The interest amongst the fans is mostly still there, didn't 3,000+ of us turn up away at Leicester last year.

If we need 12m a year to break even I don’t get the attitude of a cup run v youngsters attitude win a few games draw a big club get thumped but decent gate tv revenue etc, and yet I doubt we will make round 4

having said all of that I’ve no idea what clubs get paid per round and tv but I’d just like us to really have a go at winning a few games
