  • Frey new contract

I have to say im suprised we offered him a new deal considering hes contracted to the end of the season any way. I assume he'll be with us to the end of 26/27.

As much as I like Frey, I'm also surprised by this, he's not exactly reliable, and has spent as much time injured as playing. Good backup option though.

        My thoughts exactly.
I have supported Rangers for 55 seasons, since March 1969.

A good squad player and offers something a bit different. Doubt it is costing us a fortune and if we get say 25+ appearances probably decent value. Plus the way Kone is going he could be gone in January! All we need is one or two strikers injured and/or out of form and he could do a good job for us. Plenty good enough for this division.

Yeah, good enough to wear out the defenders (or take em out )

I'm surprised by the comments on this thread, he was our best striker last season. Yes we have signed some good players but that doesn't make him surplus to requirements, it's a squad game and we're lucky to have him on board.

I think its good business. I'd hope using him as a sub/back-up option will mean he stays fit and is read to come on as and when needed to do his wrecking ball duties, worry defenders and help the team close out matches. I like his goal celebration too, presume it's mimicking a shark????

I was suprised purely because of his age which will be 32yrs at the start of next season. I was expecting him to leave because our policy is to get them in young and blood them early. I would have expected another player in his early 20s to come in.

But perhaps this extension is more of an insurance policy to do with the expectation that Kone will leave next summer. Perhaps agents and scouts have already got one eye on him?

Good business by the club , it's a long season there will be injuries and knocks .
He works hard and will get at teams when he comes on

He is a useful player to have given how we have struggled to score goals these few last seasons.
