Re-instate Marti

Forget Marti, he's gone.
We need to gamble on coach stepping up to first managerial job. Beale was inspired choice, started well, head was turned. Do it again. Find young coach working at Premier league academy looking to step up.

I liked Marti and how he held himself in interviews etc, thought on that hand he was a credit to the club. However, no coming back from this saga, see ya.

Whatever the club decides to do is good enough for me. We'll have winning and losing patches no matter who's in charge.Originally posted by WeAreQPR12 View PostNo I do get your point sheep and it's a fair one but we still need to be careful and not to cut off our nose to spite our face because I am looking around and decent quality managers look very thin on the ground. I just see us now being better off keeping him if it was to be possible

If he can sit the players down and say that all he did was discuss another opportunity to potentially manage at a higher level, and as players they want to play at the highest level they can as well, it might work.Originally posted by WeAreQPR12 View PostSo we need to bring in a manager with no ambition, glad we don't sign players with that mindset
My gut feeling is we need someone committed to the whole of next season, and Im not convinced thats Marti. He's shown he's prepared to drop us.

Horrible Marti football. Just about survived football.
Go, please.

True, but he has clearly shown he has eyes on a bigger prize. If the team can get into the top 10 he may well walk at Xmas if an offer comes to him. It's better to cut ties now and bring in someone who is more likely to see the season through and have some consistency with the new squad.Originally posted by Martinmalta View PostIn the past, Ian Holloway went through the same situation. He was placed on gardening leave. That season he left us or rather been⁷ sacked, however, some years later he was made Manager once again. With QPR you will never know. Stranger things happened along the way!
There would be too much uncertainty if he stayed and that may rub off on the players who are putting in the hard yards.

I've mentioned previously that it would be extremely unwise of the club to replace Marti before he has formally left us. "Gardening Leave" means he's still our employee and we're still paying him - it's a staging post where employees who've badly messed up are placed whilst the employer builds a watertight case for sacking them. We have to complete the process properly and we can't undermine the process by replacing with a permanent manager/coach or whatever. Obviously this whole process must remain confidential.Originally posted by LoftusRoadLad View PostLots of potential managers may be put off with him still here and not resolved.

It would not suprise me one bit that Marti comes back. The dane has just turned us down so anything is possible going forward.

Amen.Originally posted by Martinmalta View PostNothing been said or done since the end of the season. Marti never gave any interviews to explain what happened. Likewise, CN. Their relationship was once on a very good terms, so much so that half way through the season, MC was offered an extension to his contract which he gladly accepted and signed. It seems that the heavy home defeat against Burnley was what sparked the negative reactions. Marti said the obvious for most. The club should aim for higher and not just be happy that relegation was once again avoided. Granted that his representatives met WBA. And that left a bad taste. However, everyone will try to better his position. What is sure is that MC declared that he is contracted to us and is happy to stay.
As things stand, he is still being paid on gardening leave. And it will be difficult to affload if there is a releaae clause inserted. We are at the beginning of June and soon a decision is to be made. CN must realise that whatever the aim was to put Marti on gardening leave, he must sit down with him, re-ignite the good relationship that both had a few weeks ago and re-instate Marti in his position.
