Left the club following expiry of this contract.

So it's just Larkeche now at LB? Maybe we'll start playing Morrison over there given our history of shunting CBs out to the flanks instead of actually buying fullbacks....

The correct decision I feel. Lacked defensive qualities and rarely stopped a cross coming over.
That said, I feel he does have some ability and wish him well.

He would've done better in a system where he had more cover both behind and ahead, he had ability going forward, despite the hate he got sometimes. He was lacking defensively, for our budget i thought he was ok. Good luck to him.

I liked him, I thought his first season was his best for us. Tried his best, why we persisted with him as our set piece taker was a very odd decision though.

Thought for a free transfer he was a good signing . Assume Larkeche will return and compete with Esquerdinha. Latter looked very good prospect in the final the other week.

But, Christ, if your fullback requires TWO "minders" it's a pretty sad state of affairs. I think it's fair to reference our budget and I accept its unlikely we could afford an all singing, all dancing, two-footed unbeatable tackler who could fly up and down the wing and ping a wicked cross in but surely we can get someone who can solidly protect and defend our flank? Paal was "alright" at most bits but it all added up to something that wasn't quite a good enough standard. There must have been a dozen times last season when I winced at one of his wild sliced hacks at the ball in our box - I think his time here was definitely up... I've seen worse here but I've seen better too.

Had some good moments with him & Chair down the left flank & Willock in the team but sadly his defending let him down mostly, a good 6/10 player & wish him the best

40+ appearances per season. IMO, we'll struggle to replace him.

6/7 out of ten every week.

I think he'll get plenty of offers for next season.

Doesn't that Harvey Vale play left back also?

Thus far, the only position Vale hasn't been mentioned for is goalie.... he appears to be an attacking defensive player who can play on either flank or down the middle.

Still, he has a song already I suppose.... he's here, he's there, he's every effing where, Harvey Vale! Harvey Vale!
