We'd have to sell him today to get anything worth being excited about.

He's only once been the target guy of a couple of clubs, should have sold him then if that was legitimate interest. But he was kept and the club made out like it was to apease the fans.

We can't get attached to players at a club like QPR, if they go they go, just have to hope the club get the best out of them and then the best fees they can. Until we are in the top half of the premier league for 10 years straight, we are a club that develops and sells to those above us, or tries, fails and loads players off to those below.

Somwhere in the middle we get players to cheer for 2-3 years.

We are making a right pig's ear of being a "selling club"... we're gonna have to sell some players over the summer and not overly weaken the team at the same time. However, it's hard to see many who would command a decent fee. As for Chair, it might simply be he's not as good as we thought he was? You're right though, we should've sold him the minute there was genuine interest in him at a decent price. This applies to ALL our players really.

Chair was better as a number 10, and we were better moving forward as a team, as good as i've seen this season anyway.

Or was the team better because he was not on the left wing?

My question is, was Ilias responsible for this positive forward movement? I don't think so, he played his part well though, the whole forward line did. Some of the comments i'm reading have him as MOTM and we've got an even better version of him at his peak.

Guess we'll see in the next game or so because Marti will keep him there for sure.

You are all forgetting the fact that Chair could leave the club on a free in the summer. It seems that loyalty is not appreciated any more. All I read is how much can the club get for that player or the other! I appreciate we are a selling club, however, I do appreciate loyalty more. Ilias made it clear that QPR are his favourite team. What more can one expect from a quality player?

Isn't the title of this thread, Chairs new contract?
And celebrating the fact he signed a new contract.
So how can he leave in the summer for free.
            Bloody short contract

We are probably only discussing Chairs contract because of a dip in form. He has served the club well and there is still a good player in there somewhere but waiting for it to reappear is not a forever option. We are not in a position yet to attract quality players but are definitely on the way. Ronnie is an example albeit on loan.

If not signed the contract that is! I was not clear enough in my first sentence ... my mistake. However, many seems to forget that he could easily refused a new contract and then leave on a free. That was my point! He showed great loyalty to the club.

Loyalty to the club is one thing, making a difference on the pitch is another. I’ve been loyal to the club for 55 years but I’d be no use on the pitch!

The floating role on Tuesday night was much better, he was difficult to track and mark and importantly didn’t keep leaving Paal stranded. Left back and left mid need to work as a team, as left back pushes on, left mid needs to drop in the hole to cover. Chair has never been up for that.

Im sure he's settled and was keen to pay us back after we stood by him during the legal and injury problems. But if there was huge interest in him and a significant increase in salary Im sure he'd have gone. A few quid here and there and im sure it's just not worth the aggro.
