with respect, Richards saying it and then taking a chance to try and prove himself in a lower league (even if it didn't work out) is in my books leading by example.
Not going to start here? what will it take to show you that you are wrong? a successful showing in a lower league? ok then you got it!
Not sure why it didn't work out for him down there and it would say he doesn't have the ability here either, but its the right attitude at least..

If he has runners around him think he has the ability to ping the ball around. Will depend how the team is set up. Don't think he is a had egg, just didn't really work for him most of last season.

I think Madsen is genuine but now its time to deliver. Im sure hes in for a much better season.
I recall mocking Richards as soon as he said it, the guys a total waste of space and doesn't deserve any more chances.
I was critical of Madsen a lot last season he was appallingly bad for far too many games. He did however show some real moments of quality in the last few games, this coincided with Marti leaving, so maybe Abseits does have a point in the above post.

Madsen's been honest enough to recognise his poor form, and fair play to him(at least he turned up). I hope he starts this season the way he ended the last one. I'll certainly be behind him, fingers crossed he can play with a bit more freedom and confidence and be a real force in out team.

Has occurred to me that maybe he struggled to fit into the Martiball way of playing? Cifuentes seemed to want us to patiently hold the ball for 10 minute stints playing sideways walking football waiting for an opening. If Madsen is a more intuitive off-the-cuff player he would find it difficult to thrive in that rigid environment. Oh well.... new season, new gaffer, new regime - Madsen and all players start with a blank sheet. Is up to them to create their own narratives now.

Clearly must be better than he has shown thus far.
Why should we show him some love .... The bloke gets good wages to try his hardest and run himself into the ground every game.

Big few months for him. Is up to him to shape up. or expect to be shipped out - his future is entirely in his own hands. He's had plenty of time to come to terms with his new environment so he should be able to hit the ground running. I reckon he's gonna be a big positive for us this season and hopefully help us be more "joined up" between midfield and attack. We were so slow at moving the ball through "the thirds" last season - it was tedious to watch and made us easy to play against. I'm thinking Madsen will have the technique and vision to move the ball forward quicker and more inciseively.

We’re signing a lot of young guys from abroad and it’s a massive move for anyone to deal with coming to a new country. Some fans don’t seem to realise it’s not an easy thing to do and money doesn’t just make it easy.

Really good interview and an eye opener
I always think footballers are cocky, arrogant self confident fellas.
But this shows some need to have a metaphorical arm
    around them.
We have to support the players.

    Yeah, very honest interview.

He seems a very sensitive guy and hopefully he's more confident in himself now. Hes always had some flair but seemed afraid to impose himself on games, so they just seemed to pass him by.

Hopefully we'll see greater impact next season.

Admitting that he only played well in the last six matches of the season because he's so self critical. He been talking to a lot of people around the club like Dunne, Cook and the store manager and is feeling more confident. He's looking forward to continuing his late form into this coming season with JS.

Hopefully we need a better and more consistent player in his second season.

Madsen may be better as an advanced number 10, but im sure Kolli will be fighting for that slot if we set up that way. Hopefully Madsen will have a better second half of the season, but I don't see a combative instict there. Without that he almost a weak link in a normal midfield set up.

I hope to be eating humble pie by the end of the season.

Madsen doesn't help himself , looking at his body language he's slack and lazy .
Never seems to bust a gut .
He's on of those players that looks ok when he has the ball at his feet but won't fight to win it .
