  • Chair as fw with Dykes

Willock is our no 10 and should be playing in that position and with the abysmal form of Austin and the uniterested Gray, Chair as fw with Dykes might be the best formation. Both fast with energy and Chair can be running outside his man as much as he want, finding space and won’t interfere in ”the Willock space” behind the strikers.

Like it far better than our current options.

Remove the abysmal form of Austin from your statement and it's a decent statement, the strikers form and frustration are born of poor service and none of them being good enough to drop deep effectively or have the mobility to offer options to the midfield, also being played as lone strikers is not something any of them have been historically good at.

At least as a striker Ilias isn't expected to pass.

I'd rather see him on the right wing but upfront so Willock can play no.10 is a decent idea. He would provide pace and options to our midfield, would he just drop deep and be a second no.10 though...

We could play Salah and Kane up front. Wouldn't change a thing though, they'd simply be marooned up top wondering if they will ever receive any service. Its Warburton's dreary unambitious sports science-based tactics that are the issue. The sooner the clown chucks away his calculator and spreadsheets and opens his effing eyes to what's going on in front of him during games the better.

I agree. It is not as if the strikers are missing sitter after sitter. They barely get 1 chance per game.

It’s the dreary possession football that is to blame. Get the ball moving forward quicker and balls into the area for the forward (s) to attack and we might just see them score more frequently.

Other teams play with 3 CBs but are quicker with the ball and attack opponents.

Dykes , Chas and gray must be saying to warbs where is the service . Austin and gray are senior pros so I'd imagine they must have a voice on the training field ( especially when things are going wrong ) . Willock must play behind the striker , Albert must beat his man and get in early crosses . Chair must get quicker and turn in instead of out . Johansen must not play not up to it , midfield need to drop quickly and receive ball from defence then move it with intent and purpose ... Stop giving it back to the defenders .
