    Available premier League player

Andros Townsend, bring him home Tony and get this deal across the line. Still only 29 and would be a weapon in the championship. I'd have him over Albert all day long!
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I doubt he'll be on any less than £30K

Signing an ex-England international on high wages who is washed up age 29 and doesn't seem to have other clubs falling over themselves to sign him up is a move straight out the Sparky/'Arry era. Rather we spend our wage budget a bit better than that.

He also claims to be in talks with a Prem club with an announcement next week.

He's a good player and will have no trouble securing a decent contract at a top-level club. Reckon he'd do well at West Ham.

This thread is making me feel very old.

I remember when he was a bright young thing and a bit of a coup for us to get.

Now I'm reading he is washed up already...

Oh he ain't washed up. When he signed his big fat contract clubs thought they were on an endless gravy train. Now with TV money stalling and a season with no fans clubs are tightening their belts. 18 months ago, someone like Andros would have assumed his next contract would be a monster, best of his whole career, obviously that's all gone #### up now so he's left scurrying around looking for hopefully 75% of what he's on now (if he's lucky). Him and hundreds others players too.

Maybe I was a bit harsh calling him washed up, but talk of signing players like him gives me flashbacks to Shaun Wright-Phillips, Andy Johnson, Rio Ferdinand, Jermain Jenas, Kieron Dyer etc.

                              Bad times!
