  • Few thoughts and players marks

Now getting totally pissed off with this team, first half excellent 45, looked a good team but still managed to go in level, second half shocking start, then huffed and puffed for 40 minutes, at times we look a good team, take our chances and it’s job done, honestly think our front 2 signings are at best average. You just cannot keep missing guilt edged chances.
Overall very frustrating and not sure how this squad can turn it around, it’s certainly not lack of effort.

    Dieng 6 Did ok.
Kakay 4. Again positional play very poor
Wallace 4. Caught asleep for Wells goal
Barbet 5/6. Didn’t notice him much
Dickie 6 Solid, good goal, mistakes are costly
Willock 5 not doing enough, looks good at times
Carrol 5 busy, but does not influence the game enough
Chair 6 hard working, his moves do not always come off
Ball 6 neverr hides, achieves very little
Dykes 4 Back to his out of depth mode
BOS 7 frustrating player, would be worth a fortune if he could cross or finish.
    Subs
Bonne 3 couldn’t hit the target from 5 yards
Kelman ? Have to admit did not see him come on
Nico H 5 not on that long
Adomah 3. Nice to have a fan playing for us, next week pick someone from the paddocks, he would do as much as Adomah

Overall another night of what ifs, take our chances we would be top 6, however our front 2 are were cheap and it shows.

Losing has become a way of QPR life. You watch games now just waiting for the moment when the tide turns, we go down to defeat, and the coach is left to offer bromides and excuses.

When we went down 2-1, it felt like we were already beaten, even with nearly 40 minutes left on the clock. Worse, the defense futzed around with the ball (which led to their second goal) despite being down a goal for the remainder of the second half.

This is clearly MW’s style — lots of possession, lots of near or missed chances, lots of defeats.

Would try up tempo game moving forward, perhaps with three central defenders, and with as much offensive power as we can muster.

We have suffered through mediocrity for the past five seasons, and hew to a style of play that has us flirting with the bottom of the table all over again.

Yes I commented on this last night, teams seem to attack us at pace and be very direct often resulting in a goal. We have a far more measured style of attack that hovers around the edge of the area, which would be fine if it resulted in more goals, but unfortunately at the moment just amounts to loads of possession.

I think you have over marked Chair and BOS They dont seem to learn form one game to another, and as for Chairs attempted Rabona...

What's the feeling about the new players overall now we're 15 games in? I reckon its:

Dickie - 6.5, looks a decent footballer, seems to be settling in and adjusting. Is he more of a midfielder than CB?
Dykes - 4, Sorry, he's Connor Washington v2.0 thus far. Needs to deliver goals, not energy.
Bonne - 4.5, hard to tell, seems okay-ish
          Thomas - unclassified, no idea
Adomah - 2, Fantastic story but woeful on the pitch
Willock - 6.5, Could go either way but deffo potential
Carroll - 4, too lightweight, him and Chair on pitch is just asking to get steamrollered in midfield.

That's not horrendous but given our squad was paper thin and lacking in quality beforehand it seems to have been a window that fell significantly short of what we needed.

To me it look likes Dykes get far too little service from Bos and Chair especially. They seem very reluctant to pass to him. Not sure why though. With regards to Adomah: He has not played that much, but looks very rusty and borderline hapless so far. So far is the keyword, mind.

I agree that Dykes (and Bonne) dont get enough chances to really judge them properly, but do think they could get into double figures with more crosses into the box.

Adomah so far looks rusty but perhaps could improve with more minutes on the pitch (although maybe this is all he has left and why Forest let him go).

Agree also with Abs about Carroll and Thomas. They are just squad players , but Carroll is getting more games because Amos is injured.

We need more in January but am not expecting much tbh.

Thomas is a player who could prove to be a sucess with more gametime imo, but loans are needed- no doubt about that. A centerback is needed and etc..etc...
