    Manning-less?

What's the story there? Andy Sinton said it was over a "contract disagreement". MW suggested his absence was about players who are not showing a full willingness to give their all for the shirt. Any other intel?

I believe we should sell him now. Want to see Niko develop on the left behind Wallace (who had a solid game today).

My only hope is we can get BOS to sign an extension for more money with the understanding we won't stand in his way if a good offer comes to QPR at season's end.

See my comments on the Plymouth game thread.

Appalling performance and a complete lack of effort in defending and man marking. I was so glad he wasnt in the squad.

Agree about BOS. He ain't the full glass at the mo so he will only be a bit player in the top league. If its only money he craves then get rid.

Hopefully WHU will get turned over by Newcastle during the 8pm game and a £5m bid will follow on Monday. Great to see Wallace play today and we need another specialist LB in the squad.

Agree and we are more solid with Wallace at left back anyway, even if we lose a bit of attacking flair.

I never saw the game, but reading comments of us having a solid defensive display is very heartening.
Huge result today, against a decent side with some top signings added to them.
The confidence our boys can take from that cannot be underestimated imo.

It was a good result and performance over all Dave but (without wishing to take anything away from the team) we did ride our luck at times again. Grabban had a bit of a shocker in front of goal, thankfully.

Fine margins in the Championship these days.

Hemelainen is a decent cover for Wallace imo.

Well if he can step up like Kakay has on the opposite wing then brilliant. But hes hardly had any first team opportunities so if he's rated then get him in the squad. If not, then sell him.

Hemalainen needs to be given a chance to show us what he can do.

Yes. Could've been quite different if Grabban had his spectacles on. Thing is, the general level of finishing in Championship is pretty poor so you can get away with a bit of slackness in your defending and not get punished for it. Obviously it'd be best not to make mistakes or switch-off at the back but as yesterday showed, it's not necessarily catastrophic if you do. Also, I thought Lumley contributed to their misses with his positioning and presence - I thought he had a decent game without actually making saves if that makes sense???

I agree with all those saying Wallace was solid yesterday, I like most of what he did last season btw, we do need some cover there whether Hemalainen is up to it or not, we need a younger version of Rangel who can cover either side of the defence!

Hsmalainen's contract is up next summer and I havent heard anything to suggest we are in negotiations with him to extend that. But we are with other players in a similar situation.

Even in the absence of left footed Manning yesterday he never made the match day squad. It would lead me to think that other LB cover will be sought and NH will go out on loan for the remainder of his contract.
