It won't work the way they or some wanted.

We've never had an edgy support like Millwall, Birmingham or Chelsea but we have never fallen into the divvy support of Palace or Fulham either.

Most people just want to have a few beers and go to the match. If there's something to sing about they will, if there isn't they won't. Also, as I and others have said on numerous occasions, there is nothing out of the ordinary with our atmosphere. Games against some teams will have an amazing atmosphere, games against others won't unless there is something at stake. That's the way it's always been and nothing will change.

My advice to The Loft Boys is cast aside any hopes that we're the next Crystal Palace - also known as the Always Ultras in some circles - and just go with the flow.

Palace aren't renowned for an edgy bunch of supporters but their atmosphere now is brilliant. Took time to build it though and makes it more fun for everyone.

I didn't mean the group of fans, I just wanted to know if the cheaper section has had an increase in noise. I think players can hear the crowd more than the crowd can hear the crowd, as daft as that sounds.

I said that they have - and always have had - divvy support. They were tailored made for the bizarre, imported culture of 'Ultras'.

Also, 'brilliant atmosphere' , that's all rather subjective and if you think every Crystal Palace fan believes that they have 'improved' the 'match day experience' (God, I hate that saying...) you're wrong.

People who feel the urge to start a different song are sometimes harassed or threatened and the increased Police presence at a club who seldom had them in their ground, creates tension and the threat of trouble.

I agree with a lot of this.
There are a good few Palace fans I know that are not in favour of the Ultras and feel they have got far to big for their boots, demanding thing like their own player of the season etc.
I believe they are not all sitting together this season because of a disagreements with the Club.

My friend's 14 year old son got threatened by one of the Ultra's main 'leaders' for starting a different song at a match last season when the man at the front was going to start the next one planned.

His Dad reported them to the club and was told that they were aware that this was an issue and they were determined to tackle it. Funny how these hard men called the Norwood Police Station up when they last played at home to Millwall and begged them to escort them to the ground...

Say what you like Selhurst Park rocks in a way it never used to ,and is far louder than us , so any moves these lads in X/Y block make to increase the atmosphere are fine by me.

I do agree with this. Much better atmosphere than it used to be but not all Palace fans are happy with the Ultras. But then again you can't please everyone as we regularly see.
