Rubbish. Gary Neville was a world class defender. One of the world's best right backs over the past 15 years by a distance. Cruelly underrated. Great positioning, fast enough to overlap, puts in a decent shift and can head the ball and fill in more than competently at centre back. Considering he had a sequence of Kanchelskis, Beckham and Ronaldo in front of him, he has had to work far harder than any of his contemporaries.

Would walk into any World XI of the decade.

(nb Lizarazu was a left back IIRC - Neville at his peak was better than Cafu and Salgado combined)
