Quality of defensive coaching seems highly questionable, this was an area in which Clint could have contributed. Normally I wouldn't have though any sort of playing contract made sense, but our circs are exceptional at the moment.

I watched the u23 game and I was actually a bit worried if he was to play in our back three, it did not look that he was even close. My guess, we wanted a pay as you play deal and CH wanted an end of the season contract. I think a lot are missing the point here. As a player clearly his days are numbered but just to have his passion and enthusiasm around the place would have been massive!

Agree with others who say he was probably offered a short term contract which he refused.

Good decision.

Love him but ffs he's 73 years old! Any team with Clint Hill at the back will struggle.

Very limited at this stage in his career and signing him just stunts the growth of someone younger and more long term.
