I think new CB rather than cover, use Ned/Hall as cover. The defense is playing well right now but we still ship 1/2 goals a game.
We let 0 in at Leeds.

Granted, but in the last 36 games that's only happened one other time, Reading, and then it was Cardiff. So i'd say a 3 in 36 hit rate of not conceding at least 1 goal is evidence of a leaky defence, improving though it might be.

Agreed but that is during a period of rebuilding the team, squad and formations. Now we seem settled I would expect a lot more clean sheets.

I think a top quality striker is the foremost target for me. Someone of Chas's ilk in this team and we're almost guaranteed top 6 if not higher.

Not a cat in hell's chance we'll get a striker of Austin's ilk - keep dreaming! We haven't got that kind of money to spend on a player anymore.

              How much was Austin?
We sold him for 4 million didnt we. Id have a pound with you we pay more than that on a player in the summer.
We are still a very very rich club with not a money worry in the world . Just being sensible now thats all.

Exactly Kev. The fee for Chaz from Burnley was meant to be about £4M.

Think he'll be available this summer and given his injury record not sure how many teams will be interested.

There is a reason Chaz went for that price, injury prone - was seen as damaged goods after his Hull move fell through because of his knee. Once in a blue moon in this day and age does a signing like that happen.

Look at what strikers of Charlie's ilk are now going for, even in the championship! We're still repairing the finances - IMO, not a chance we'll be signing someone of that ilk in that summer.

I don't think we as fans should be expecting that type of signing either - we've had to and need to readjust our expectation levels as fans of late. Some are still finding it hard to do so.

Who cares about speding money? How much did Freeman, Smith and Goss cost in comparison to say Ross McCormack?

Pretty sure we got all 3 for less than what McCormack costs.

Think that was the point... spend wisely not extravagantly... it's always been the Rangers' way.

Probably about a sixth of what he cost.....

Don't really need a "name" to make a team.

With the exception of the last 2 seasons, that's not been the Rangers way at all under the chairmanship of Tony Fernandes, which imo is why we failed. I'll never understand people who want us to spend loads again.

Totally agree but for that period after and including the first dip in the premiership it has always been the Rangers way.
