Dont let that bring youn down mate, if man u ever want to buy him back it means we would have had a worldy player on our hands. Pogba and Ronaldo are the class of player they want to buy back.

      Exactly.

Buy back clauses are the norm tbh - usually something along the lines of they have the option to buy him back within the next 2 years for, say, £5m, should they so wish.
You should never underestimate the predictability of stupidity.

I think it comes down to the amount of the buy-back. Goss sounds talented but has had injury problems. If we sign him for £500k (and lets say this rises to £800k if we get promoted within 4 years, and he is part of our squad), but there is a buy-back clause of £2m which has to be activated within 2 years then the upside is quite limited, and the deal seems more like a loan signing rather than buying a player. Of course if the buy-back is at £20m then this is very different

Does Goss have to be signed before midday today, to be eligible for the Burton game ?

I agree with this 100%. If United come back for him it will be because he's pulling up tress with us. Song long as the buy back is decent for us its win win.

He'll only be making the bench and coming on if we're up, no sense in having the lad straight into a winning, rested 11.

                  No rush.

This buy back stuff seems a bit cheeky when his contract expires in the summer and he's reportedly refused to sign a new one.

Yeah, not keen on this buy back clause.
Something that very rarely happens in England, although it does seem rife on the continent.

Hopefully get it sorted, or wait until the summer to sign him.

United are keen on buy backs after getting stung for Pogba. They insisted on one in the Depay deal also. He also won't be able to leave for free in summer as he is under 24

That's true. Would have to pay a compensation fee.
Would rather that though, than united reaping the benefit of any potential sale down the line (as in we get a bid of £10m come in for him but united have a buy back at a fraction of that price - they'll buy him back to sell and make a nice chunk of change out of it).

Not too fussed about utd having a buy back clause, fair enough to them its the kind of thing every club should do
