So would you or any other sane person swap him with Smith?

      I didn't think so.

at present, no - smith's in good form and seems to be in good spirits.

polter's moved on, we've moved on.

i never disliked him when he was here and hope he does well going forward with union. he put in a shift for us and, if you believe the alleged transfer fee we received (not sure i do, but...), we made a decent profit on him.

...and i hope we do even better financially as a result of him doing well through add-ons.

personally i just hope he does well there, not coz of potential add ons but because he was a real nice guy who liked to interact with the fans whilst he was here, proper top bloke and i would love it if he went on to excel and play for germany (long shot i know). certainly wouldn't have sour grapes over it nor would i blame the board for selling him, he tried his hardest but wasn't able to adapt to england plus we made a profit

Don't think there is much of a difference tbh, would say championship is maybe 10% better.

                    Under Les Ferdinand:
Luke Freeman, top assists in the league: 4million
Alex Smithies, great goalie for this club: 3,5million
Charlie Austin, 19 Premier League goals: 4million
Jack Robinson: Contract ran out, left for free
                    And many more mistakes

Looks like they get a little bit more time in the final third.

Maybe but could be numerous factors as to why he is scoring more for them.

hit the post, missed 3 other chances, but helped them with their 6th straight win, a record. Top of the table now
