I remember a year ago the calls to get rid of this guy and keep Washington... Turned out well... he's getting regular play time and scoring and we... have Washington...

I wanted to get shot of them both. Washington simply isn't up to the job at this level, and I'd take Smith over Polter given the same service, ie SFA.

Like Polter's attitude though. Berlin is a fun city and Union is owned by the fans. And you can stand. He did well to get away.
