Yeah, you can see by the trajectory of his career since leaving Milan that the last few years haven't gone well for him. All I'm saying is, to play week in, week out for 4 or 5 seasons at Ajax and 2 seasons at Milan.......the guy clearly hasn't always been rubbish!

I'll tell you, I think when he was at Ajax, they didn't have many left back options. Because I know fans there were critical of him at left back because he didn't know how to defend (Traore much?). But once he moved to left mid, he became fairly ok for them. It's pretty well documented that full backs don't come out of Netherlands often as well, hence keeping his spot, just because he was the best of an average bunch. Hasn't gotten a cap internationally since 2012 as well I think. In any case, I don't think he'll do great for Wednesday but he could prove me wrong at this level.
