maybe rashford won't go, but a couple of injuries and suddenly who knows? in any case, it seems a dumb move to me - defoe is a far more reliable option and even andy carroll would offer the possibility of making things happen (he may not be particularly good, but he can unsettle defenders on his day) - can't help thinking that if rashford played for, say, stoke or palace, there wouldn't be any minor possibility of him being near the squad. stick rashford in the u21 squad, see how he goes... but the main squad is just stupid.

This. He'll only be 20 at the next World Cup and will be proven one way or another by then. Defoe for me every time as the impact sub if we need to score late on. Always in the right place.

Wilshere arguably our best midfielder, although thats not saying much. Fresh and raring to go, so the fact he's missed most of the season could be to our advantage.

Rooney, best days behind him and will probably be his last tournament. Wouldnt start him but no doubt Roy will, which will possibly backfire and leave a lot of what ifs.

Can understand Delphs inclusion in the initial 26 as Roy trusts him, but doubt he'll make the 23. After missing out on friendlies, there was no way Noble was being called up.

The defenders pretty much pick themselves. Harsh on Jagielka, but we've got Dier that can drop back if needed. Cresswell might get a look in further down the line but like Noble is untested at international level and was never gonna make this tournament.

Good experience for Rashford. Gets a taste of pre-tournament experience that will hopefully make him hungry enough to make the final 23 next time round. Pointless calling up Defoe to be in a similar situation at his age.

The three to be cut will be from Delph, Drinkwater, Townsend and Rashford i reckon.

As I now see that Tom Heaton is in your squad, Alex Smithies can´t be that far from being included. I feel Smithies is better but he lacks routine, obviously.

Give over Dave. What do you expect Roy to do? Come out and say Walcott is too sh it, which would help to shatter the blokes confidence even more? Roy has acted in a professional/gentleman like way that he always does. You can have a foreign ego maniac with no pride and passion who can't speak English well enough to explain his failures and I'll keep Roy thanks. Some people are forever fu cling moaning! Oh and agree with north wilshire rightly picked on ability

I do think Noble should have been picked over Wilshere, he's been captain of West Ham for yonks and has always been consistent. He's a leader too and imo is certainly someone who could be crucial to bring on as a sub when we're faltering (we always do) and need a pick up.

Not sure what delph or wilshere have done to deserve a call up. I get the talent that wilshere has but no use if he is always injured. Henderson is another but he is a roy favourite. Nice to see rashford in there but dont get what he offers us that vardy, kane and strurridge dont. Would've taken Carroll as alternative. Would've put Noble in there ahead of delph. Our lack of depth at centre half is shocking. Wonder if clint fancies it in france this summer

You mention Wilshire always being injured, then in the next breath say Andy Carrol should be going.... Christ, he is an utter donkey who is also injured 90% of the time. No thanks. I'm glad players like that are not going as don't want us to subconsciously resort to long ball garbage. For once we have a young, hungry and most importantly untarred squad going into a tournament. They will hopefully play with no fear as they have shown signs of recently. They are in the main a technically good bunch so we need to play quick passing game and only then may we be able to compete with the better footballing sides around.

Not saying Roy should go I dont have a pwoblem with Woy. just that his reasoning for leaving Walcott out smacks of double standards tells one guy he ain't played enough then picks a guys who played even less for the same team, I agree that Wilshere is better than Walcott its just the excuse for not picking him?

Townesend shouldn't be anywhere near the squad. Would much prefer Walcott to him. He casn play wide in a mid or advanced 3 and is a very good finisher also, not to mention lightning pace.
