A lot of us said he was a squad player and jfh has said that's wxactly how he saw him as well. Ali clearly wants more game time and after missing 2 years out you can't blame him. I also think this will explain why Henry is being offered a new deal. I imagine we didn't want to lose both of them but whine Ali made it clear he wants to be a regular that kind of made the decision for the club.

The only worry is it looks like another overhaul and we not only need to bring in 6 or 7 decent first 11 players but maybe 4-6 squad players.

Never quiet at QPR is it.

I reckon Faurlin will end up with Warnock and playing first team football there which you can't argue with.feel better now jfh explained it.

On a side note I hope hoilett is a greedy lil got and out prices himself for a new contract from us. This will be traore part 2 and I can't believe the club are being so naive in even trying to tie him down to a new deal.
Absolutely agree, was distraught earlier but glad to hear some decent validation from JFH's perspective. Wish both of them luck in the future.

Surely it would have been obvious that he had given the matter a lot of thought Nas, before arriving at his decision. Hardly likely to bomb out a couple of big fans favourites without very good reasons.

Hopefully, the summer incomings will prove to be of sufficient quality to justify his actions. As I've said before, the first 10 games of next season are going to be crucial in determining our fate. And his own. Particularly after today.

Only if we are unlucky. Every single one of those useless planks will be in the team next August.

It's not particularly fair IMO to say the club/JFH have bombed them out. The manager wants a CB that can play Saturday/Tuesday 46 times in a season and we all know Clint can't do that any more. I like the manager's honesty. Likewise, we all see Ale as a squad player now (even those that rate him as highly as Nasser) because the harsh reality is the 30 odd times he played this year is going to be his absolute maximum and he did, on occasions, look knackered playing 2 games in a week which made him a far less dynamic option.

Love 'em both and wish they were staying, but reality is they cannot do what is needed or accept the kind of role available to them now.

If we'd had a different man in charge they may have kept them which sentimentally would have been great but JFH is being strong, knows what he wants and will not let sentiment stand in the way - I like that

Oh well see what comes in still can't get rid of Henry, but gets rid of Faurlin Hill should be kept on for a backroom roll, Probably should have kept on Yun, just have to wait and see how the first ten games go, don't hold much hope with this bunch of muppets in charge, probably just bring in your average Div 1 players.

How much would you estimate off the wage bill today?

                Green - 40k?
                Traore - 20-30?
                Yun - 10?
                Diakite - 20?
                Gobern - 5?
                Faurlin - 20?
                Hill - 20?

Angella/Konchesky % of whatever their wage is + Hoilett and Henry likely to go as well.

Obviously not all of that will be reinvested, but thats a lot of dough freed up

Yun wouldnt have got a visa, and we've two promising left backs there anyway.

You can only "keep" players for backroom staff if they are ready for it - the message from both Clint and Ale is they want to play on. Henry is not a superstar and never will be but has for plenty long enough been a good steadying influence/break up player in our midfield. If he agrees a deal then I expect it will be very similar to that discussed with Ale - squad player, and IMO he would be a very dependable squad player. As for Junior, my guess is that deal would only be on a massively reduced wage - if he signs then fair enough, if he doesn't then we know for sure he's all about the money

The Henry offer makes sense to me now we know Faurlin was considered for the same status but has chosen to go and find a club where he will get regular first team football.
As you said Henry can be relied upon as a squad player and I hope he stays personally now that Faurlin is off.

Begs the question, if Ale had said yes would they have offered Henry a role

I imagine so. Both would of been quite handy as you just never know what can happen with injuries. Right now inaftually thinks it's very important we retain Henry. No point going out and buying someone else as as quad player when he can easily step in and be counted on.

I'm actually quite fond of Henry. Fairly limited footballer but effective in breaking up play and passing the ball to someone near him at this level. Also gets stuck in. Don't actually know why he gets so much abuse.

Wonder how the rest of Diakités career will pan out.

Agree totally. He gets the abuse because the job he does is not appreciated by some. It's as though every team needs to be made up of nothing but world beaters with tricks and flicks as a given. The dirty work is a skill too and one I appreciate from a coaches perspective.
