He played against Forest earlier this season when Green was sent off and to be honest on that day Smithies didn't look very good. But looked better in the next game against Blackburn. Today he was much much better though.Originally posted by Ed the Ball View PostLumley played against Forest, or did i miss something and he came on as sub, don't remember that though

Sometimes a disadvantage of attending matches. Sitting in R block..thoughts his saves in second half were quiet good. Watching it back on TV following night, on of his saves was superb.
No mug, good keeper, needs to form partnership with defenders..pretty sure he will .

What is now rather annoying is knowing we would have won a few more games had he been in goal rather than Green. That saying of a good keeper wins you 7 - 8 points a season is really true having seen Green play and Smithies. Green wouldnt have had a triple save to make as the first one would have probably gone in.Originally posted by Jogo View PostWith a good run of games under his belt Smithies will be immense for us.

Its often the same with goals, you see them from parts of the stadium and think yeah that's ok but watching it back on TV you see how good it actually is (or bad come to that)Originally posted by Spencer View PostSometimes a disadvantage of attending matches.
