Correct me I'm wrong, but wouldn't there be more in it for Chaz if he left it until the end of term (contract up etc)? Wouldn't his agent go for that option?

there could be (could being the operative word) or he can secure a good move for himself now on a multi year contract. there is no sure thing for him at the end of the season.

i personally cannot see him being snapped up by one of the "big 6" clubs. a move to palace on a nice fat contract would be hard to turn down.

There have been concerns over his fitness in the past. These have been dismissed by some due to his attendance and performance. However this season has now had a couple of spells out. That will make some clubs nervous rightly or wrongly. If he gets a decent offer now from a decent club would be a real risk turning it down from his perspective.
