not from what i saw of him ..looked shaky mistakes at home to sheff utd..leicester away that Green would have been crucified for!

I'm not judging him on the 3 games he had for us (everyone in a Rangers shirt played poorly against Sheffield United and Leicester), I'm judging him on the 2 seasons he was first choice at Reading, and widely considered the best goalkeeper outside of the PL. Made some outstanding saves for them every time he played at LR.

before someone pipes up about 4 clean sheets, we managed that with 7 defensive minded players during that period. when being more dependent on, greens faults shine through.

with the 3 games that smithes played, he dont look much cop either.

I'd like to see Smithies given a run of games in net at the expense of Green tbh. Recall Harriman from his loan and get him in at RB, so Ned and Hall can resume their CB partnership and after that, how about a young, nippy, fox in the box type goalscoring CF please to partner Charlie up front?

Oh and drop Leroy from the 1st team asap, he was dire last night! Either go 4-4-2 (with new CF partnering Charlie), or give Chery or JET a run of games in the number 10 role.

Not convinced by McCarthy but I definitely feel Smithies should start now. Green is an accident waiting to happen and I never fully trust him.

Good shout! Didn't quite make it at the 'Tricky Trees' but is knocking them in for Preston. Might even be others in the lower leagues that are rattling them in for fun, that we could take a punt on (in the way the real QPR of the 70's, 80's and 90's used to do).

So the culture has changed then of always looking to buy in the Transfer Market.

If the thought is Green isn't up to it then Smithies has to be given a longer run in the team, we can't spend £1m on a player just as a first reserve to play 3-4 games a season.

We need to strengthen in that area but we desperately need to sort the firepower issue. When is Chas out of contract?

Very difficult for any new keeper to come into the side when they know they are a number 2 (currently in Smithies case).

When they get their chance they are so eager to impress it makes them shakey. Coming for crosses they shouldn't, etc. It is a position where obviously you are lacking game time, and a lack of confidence. Different for outfield players as they can come on for 10 mins or whatever as a sub and not effect the game in a bad way. A keeper, 1 mistake and it is curtains as we saw last night.

I believe Smithies should get his chance now, but may take him 3 or 4 games to settle and look like the good keeper which we all saw at Huddersfield. Once he gets that feeling he is number 1 and playing he would do a lot better than Green imo.

The bloke played 3 freaking games for us. Would you judge any other player over such a small sample size?
