And don't get me started on the striker situation. when charles goes last minute and we're left with das boot upfront on his own.

Poor decision by the club as Caulker will be just as bad as last season...very poor player but shame we could not have shafted another mug club to take him on a permanent.

That's at least 9 points we've saved ourselves this season.

We have to trim the wage bill , he would have been one of the high earners here, so its one off the monthly salary, as i think Southampton are paying him in full. Got to get used to this as more will go, i know its getting near the big KO , but we still have to trim the wage bill so at least 2 more will go either sold or on the same deal as this one, reckon we will have 2 in before the weekend, just my opinion

I feel everyone's frustration but we all knew this was going to be a big rebuilding job, which we would have to go through for a couple of seasons!
Caulker was HR's signing and was prob on a good wage.

Agree mate. Everyone is frustrated becaude we are so short at the back, and rightly so. But i really dont think we wouldve let him go if we didnt have a couple of defenders lined up already. At least I hope not.

Yeah. That's cheered me up. The only thing Caulker has going for him is that he's a warm body. But we need four CBs and have presently two.....

The money we are also getting back on all these sellings and releases should be noted!

We have saved ourselves millions so far.. and are starting the long road back to being an in the black, trading football club.

Exactly. None of that is gonna happen over the course of 1 season, and I would much much rather be that club in the black doing good deals than go up again at the first attempt and have to rebuild yet again.

Caulker is shite, I'm fine with him leaving. Only problem is I cannot see how/why Southampton would sign him next summer. Absolutely awful signing, overrated because he's young/english and scored a few headers for Cardiff.

Now we've got to recruit well. Need to get 3 CBs in in my opinion. Not cheap options either. Should go for a big physical African player from the French/Belgian leagues who can be with us for years.

Just out of interest , why do we have to go for big physical French,Belgian CB? What's wrong with scouting and recruiting home grown talent? And why big and physical and not clever and technical?

We need to go for quality and quantity in our signings, and there are bargains to be had in the French/Belgian leagues. The coaching in France/Belgium is very good these days, they're producing a lot of good players. Plus they are generally better than what we will find in the English lower leagues - over here the majority are either overpriced or poor. I would love to be proven wrong, but if we continue scraping the barrel in England we'll probably end up with donkeys.

And I think our squad could do with a commanding physical CB, not that I'm against more intelligent CBs
