It's absolutely brilliant to see us do this. Wonderful business and actually showcases insight as opposed to a 'take the money and run' attitude.

Completely forgetting they stole Sterling off us for peanuts. Now you get loons like Gerrard and Carragher moaning on about how he should stay at Liverpool. Why? Man City are as far ahead of Liverpool as Liverpool are ahead of us. Natural move.Comment

Couldn't agree more. The bitterness from ex Liverpool players is shocking. He's moved to a bigger club to win trophies and compete in the champions league. Will be a first team regular imo. Best stats for any u21 player in Europe last season and he's getting pelters saying he ain't good enough or is shite or Jordan ibe is better. Do me a favour.Comment

9.8 million is jawdropping. Probably the best bit of 'sell on clause' business done by any british club ever isnt it? Superb work and well done to all who were involved.Amit has retweeted this.

Liverpool are no fools though, they were so adamant that forty mill wasnt enough cos they knew what we were due, and they also know what a bunch of mugs the new citeh are as well.Comment

I think Saints also put a sell on for Bale when he went to Spurs.... they must have made a decent chunk from his slight transfer fee to Real.9.8 million is jawdropping. I'm not 100% sure on this but I think there was an option to buy out the sell-on which Spurs did before selling him. So Saints I think only got around £1.8m as that was the buy-outComment
