Bolasie is a good player but not worth more than Charlie, IMHO. Would anybody on here be in favour of a straight swap - Bolasie for Austin? Not me.

Bolassie is one of those players who is a star at a smaller club and will be anonymous at a bigger club. Who is that winger who played for Wigan I think who went to Chelsea? Looked great at his little club. Spent the last few years in the reserves and Chelsea now want to off-load, wasted his career, prob gone backwards but has a shed load of money in the bank and gets to tell girls in nightclubs he plays for chelsea so prob doesn't care. such is the state of modern football.

I think they are similar ages as well. I seem to recall he signed a new contract as recently as last season though.

Charlie or bust?

First things first. Charlie Austin is an awesome striker/finisher with character to boot. Losing him in the next few days would be tough. But here's the real question; if by some miracle both Charlie and Matty are retained, what do we then do about our defense? Or should TF reach deep one more time to pay for a top notch CB and RB?

Because if we fielded this front six -- Austin, Phillips, Chery, Luongo, Fer and Sandro -- can our defense improve enough to give us a shot at promotion?
