Stan was my absolute hero as a kid. The best player I've ever seen play for us. My two favourite QPR items are a picture with Stan on SAR, and a signed copy of his book.

Terrible news. I hope the club can do something to help.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Very very sad. If there's ever a man alive that deserves to be able to remember his great days it's Stan Bowles.....The QPR no10

Very sad greatest ever player to wear the Hooped shirt. Wish you well Stan, you're the reason I support QPR
I blew a lot on vodka and tonic, gambling and fags. Looking back, I think I overdid it on the tonic. - The one and only Stanley Bowles

Is he a legend though? Adel won us a promotion.

What a disgraceful comment. Stan is the greatest player to play for QPR, and you've got the front to suggest Adel was a bigger player for us?

                    Hang your head in shame.

I remember one piece of skill from Stan which was unbelievable ....he was running flat out along the touch line with the ball at his feet and was faced with 3 opposing players, 2 of them were about 3m in front of Stan blocking his path, the 3rd defender was in the middle but about 7 or 8 metres further back.
Stan, quick as a flash kicked the ball downwards creating spin which went in-between the 2 in front of him allowing the ball to stop dead in front of the 3rd player but not too near him, allowing Stan to run through the 2 players collect the ball and put a cross in.
This happened right in front of me and l just could not believe it . Stan the most naturally gifted player iv ever seen.

Sad news. Explains the halting interview he gave at a recent half time. I missed his glory years up front, but saw one amazing season when he ran the show from midfield in a struggling team. I well remember my utter delight when he came back into the team under Docherty when we all expected him to leave.

Terrible news - a true Rangers legend - one of just a few, but for me the best player ever to don the blue and white hoops.

God bless Stan and hope this awful disease can be somehow slowed or indeed cured.
