We are trying to build a squad for the future, and McCarthy plays a huge part in that.
He turned down Liverpool to move to us as he was promised a future.
If Green stays, he will be giving way.
I think this season will be Greens last season playing, and will move into a coaching role.

Liverpool rated McCarthy as 1 for the future, and he deserves his chance now.
