i agree but either way we need numbers as we have just released 10 players and will be selling a few more. At least there is an obvious difference from our previous handling of transfers (last minute, deadline day etc)

i doubt it's particularly ffp related, i don't think that that'll get resolved before the autumn (and i suspect it'll end up being more of a slap-on-the-wrists job, where we appear to be punished so that the fl looks like it has some credibility and we can close the chapter without people going on and on about the unpaid fine).

i keep expecting something to go wrong, but the club seem to be making a determined attempt to come across professionally... retained/released stuff done quickly and without fuss, 2 players in sharpish and efforts being made to have assembled a squad long in advance of deadline day, a proper looking set of pre-season fixtures etc

it's going to take a long time to convince people that we're not a joke, but i'm beginning to be impressed.

Can see the FL handing out a transfer embargo, but only until Dec 31st and not until we have signed the other 8 players.

Then a suitably small fine just to save face and show that they have punished us twice.

By which time of course, we will be comfortably top 6 and WLIR's will be eagerly awaiting the release of prices for a half-season ticket, but will only buy for a max of £200.
