He will go this summer if as expected we go down, probably get 10-12 million which is about right for a player with 1 year left on contract, and he still has a lot to learn, his hold up play is still poor but I would never criticise him after all he has done for us.

His agent will already be sowing seeds with interested parties as we speak and I for one wish him all the best in the future.

      Like your thinking. It's sensible.

Sadly, I anticipate us just giving in and rolling over like we always do. Because when it comes down to it, the board have as much toughness and determination as our players. Always talking a good game, but almost always failing to deliver.

The problem is Charlie will be 26 in July and if we keep him for another year he will be 27 and looking for a big club and payday, when you look at the age of players these day 30 is getting old so his time will be running out. He has done well this season but take his penalties out and his a mediocre striker that I don't think the top 6 or 7 clubs will invest in, if he goes it will be to a Stoke, West Ham, west brom, type of team.

The option of holding out for our valuation and thus forcing him to stay for a season in the championship and improve our chances of promotion is based on the assumption that Charlie will be happy with staying in the championship and playing to the best of his ability and not throwing a strop or having a sulk over the situation. If he is set on going then it is hard to force a player to stay and not impact their performances and attitude. Either way he walks into a queue of prem offers the following season as he will be available on a free and most teams won't care about his 1 season dip.

Surely we will have different people doing contracts now like Les? So what has gone before is irrelevant?

When we lose charlie, there are some good forwards in the championship but will they be willing to sell?

Spend the £ from the sale of Charlie on Chris martin (derby) & Andre gray (brentford) would be a good partnership imo

Sorry to say but he will be gone, gutted but who would blame him? Just hope he gives the R's some recognition for his uprising?? Then again who knows?
I reckon a team from Bournemouth Southampton Swansea Everton (minus lukaku) will be his step up & good luck to him.
Ps- wish he'd stay but doubtful
Thank **ck thats all over with !!! need a holiday!!!

There's a lad at Pompey people keep saying is class think his name is Jed Wallace.

I personally would love to see us get Afobe from wolves.myoung, quick scores goals. He also has something like 15 assists this year.
