Very confident of 4 points from next two games but can't see us finishing higher than 18th which of course means relegation. I still think Villa will also go down though and likely Burnley.

Our biggest problem is not scoring when we have been on top in games ( Last week a prime example )

If we can actually take our chances and score first which gives us something to hold onto then I think we can get some wins

Next 3 games will decide our fate anything less than 5 points and we will be cut adrift

14 points, but yes, no way we win five.
I would take that mate. 36 might well be enough.

We'll miss out by 2-3 points and then we'll all start with the 'if only...etc'. First one of very many being 'if only Remy had stayed'...

I said it on here the other day.. The year we stayed up, we beat teams like Arsenal at home. We beat Liverpool, we beat Arsenal, we drew with Spuds and drew with City that season.
We aint done that this season bar City at home. Match that with one away win and 3 points away on the whole all season.. AND not winning at home since before Xmas and it looks grim.

Given those points, you can see that CR has been trying out new players and different tactics to HR to see what works. Yes, he has a very short window in which to achieve this, yet he has no alternative. And despite the pall of negativity that seems to descend on this site after what were to be honest very predictable losses - it's possible to see things in a different light. Firstly, we've just played 3 of the top seven teams in succession and only been beaten by the narrowest of margins in each game. New players have been blooded. It's still all to play for. If you can't see that there is a different energy to the team than under the previous incumbent then fair enough, you might as well write the season off now. I still think we can stay up, because of the reasons I've cited above, and because I think results will turn round. Even losing away to Palace on Saturday is not the end of the world, although I suspect some people might treat it as such. I think there are just about enough winnable and/or drawable games to keep us up.

And if we don't stay up, well, it's not the end of the world either, is it? Far better to go start again with a long-term vision and structure in place than the awful short-termism of the last few seasons.
Very good post and agree with every word.

Nope, remys forgotten, it will be the last minute goals and dodgy refs.

But I did that with him as well. I waited for the end of the season, we were relegated under him in the most underwhelmingly lame manner, I judged him based on that.

The only way I can see this team suddenly hitting any sort of form is bringing in new players. Ok I realise that can't happen as such, but playing players like Tarbs, Zarate etc
is as close as we can get. Play them and play to their strengths running at the defence's and maybe we can get the wins. 4231?...
