If a reach for the balls is a sending off offence then fair enough. No need for some of the comments on here about not having him in the team ever again. Farking ridiculous

Like Joey, but he let us down today. Perhaps, if it means we won't play 442, his three game absence could be a blessing. But we've more chance of watching a Phoenix riding a Unicorn while pigs fly that we have of seeing that crock Sandro actually earn his money by putting in a shift.

I thought trying to get a player sent off warrants a yellow card. Plus two people pushed joey first, where are their cards, I thought it was pathetic from grown men trying to get a young boy sent off. If I was in joey's shoes I would have punched one of the cants.
He did not cost us the match. That farming balled headed, useless pric of a social called referee did.
Maybe stato nasser can check this out. Who committed the most fouls and how many cards did hull get dished out.

I'd be happy enough if he never played for us again to be honest, but that's been true since he signed, today is just a disappointing reminder of why. He had shown signs that he may have turned a corner last year, but it seems that his underlying nature is the same as it's ever been.

What he did was clearly a red. You've got to really have your Barton blinders on to think otherwise.

the ref was totally pony and there was a push or two by both but his last action was a slippy little poke that was seen. yes the player over-reacted going down holding his nuts but joey is silly to get that far involved. could you see alan mcdonald doing that??-he would have FRONTED the players not try a sloppy punch at somebodys balls. if barton hadn't got involved it would have been a yellow at worst. stick up for a sh it captain as much as you want but he let the team down......again!! joey barton as our captain offers nowt no matter how much you love him.

                        not sure what to think...

to be fair to huddlestone, he said after the game that it was a nothing thing.

if the stream commentators were right, then the ref was just waiting to send barton off (can understand the huddlestone one being a red/possible second yellow, but the first one was nothing)

but... barton is a fool, he does this too often. i don't buy into the 'protecting darnell' stuff, that sounds too much like something he made up after the fact (remember the classic ' one of the other players told me to smack aguero and take him out of the game' nonsense from a few years back...

when i got back on the coach u could feel the pain of coming so close , i thought this 4.5 hour journey and we nearly got something . it hurts me does it hurt barton . i've always backed him as he plays for my team . today he let down his team mates and the fans that made the 9 hour round trip , if he's that sorry why doesn't he donate a weeks wages to the tiger cubs

There is no way anyone can defend Barton.. It's not like it's the first time he has done this. After a few good performances he is back in everyone's good books? Not for me, he has been a liability ever since he has been here. A player we can do without, we lost the match yesterday because of him and because he was man enough to apologise it's ok, leave off. He is the captain and should be setting an example for the rest of the team.
