We have a massive problem away from home and it comes from Redknapp attitude that they are "bonus" games and therefore we can write them off

Palace and Hull managed draws at Swansea & Everton why can't we
Comparing results is all very well, but it works both ways if only you look for it and not focus on the negative.
Hull lost at home to Man City 2-4 in September! We got a very creditable draw v City at home and should have won.

Exactly if you are going to compare results then measure it fairly against the teams we have beaten, who they have lost to

I'm comparing the attitude to away games the fact is the teams around us don't go into games thinking away games are bonus games therefore they get points at unexpected places

If only we had the same attitude we do for home games then we will be fine

We played well yesterday and would have won it with Charlie.

              We are perennial underachievers.

The top teams in this league have been awful so far this season, meaning anyone can get a point pretty much anywhere. We can't rely on our relegation rivals losing to sides like Liverpool, Everton, United etc. as it's not a given any more. We're capable of putting in a decent performance against anyone but lack something (whether it's the winning mentality, tactical astuteness, preparation or quality) required to actually take something from these games. Look at our matches against Liverpool, Hull etc. We just fold.

The fact of the matter is that we have 14 points, 12 of which have come from home wins against arguably the worst 4 sides in the division. Burnley, Leicester, Villa & Sunderland at home are games that ANY half serious team has to win.

Having said that we could stay up if we get very very lucky.

I wouldn't have said that we "folded" in either of those games. We were all over Hull like a rash and missed a penalty. Very unlucky not to get anything out of those two games. IMO.

Agreed. Both of those performances were better than Leicester and Burnley IMO.

Stoke have lost to Burnley, Leicester and Villa at the Britannia and they are doing alright!

WLR losing eight on the bounce this season alone suggests otherwise our record away from home in the prem (As seen on LFW) suggest the problem is bigger then just this season were weak away.

Of the eight away games this season how many of those sides have walked off or their fans thought we had to work hard for that victory at a push possibly Chelsea other then that the rest of our efforts away have been walkovers

Thing is, so called "attacking formation" last night was no such thing. I reckon it was a shape to counter (emphasise "counter") Everton's use of Baines, Coleman and whoever down the flanks. No real harm in that I s'pose but it's hardly taking the game to them is it? It's just another variation of the misguided and fruitless attempt to stop or contain the opposition we've miserably failed in at every away game.. Doomed last night after Everton cottoned on to things and started ragging us through the middle instead. Didn't Sky put out a stat earlier today saying we've won 5 out of last 45ish away games in prem - it's bloody shambolic and showing no sign of improving and hence people like me being disgruntled.

When you put it like that, it does look like a problem... A lot like Fulham had when they were in the Prem. I think eventually we will find a formula that will work.
Our home form and sprit in the team is too good not to.

If memory serves me right our last point away was at Reading the day we were relegated where both sides needed to win to have any chance of staying up and we went out and played for a draw as we do now. We only got draw as Reading were as dire as us

We went out and played for a draw at Everton and Chelsea did we... don't think so...

In addition you cant give stats for away games in the last 3 seasons and then say our last away point was at reading, when we won countless games away from home last season?
