        Hitman says..........

he said the same before the newcasle game, look how that panned out.

would love it if we took it to swansea but i cant see harry doing it.

most likely play 1 up front with 5 across the middle. go 1 nil down after 20 mins then hoilett and bobby will come off the bench and we will get ra ped on the counter attack.

thats what my crystal ball predicts.

        hope im wrong though.

Our defence is not that bad. Green was our savour. Dunne and Caulker were solid, while Ned and Yun did their part as well. Its the midfield that we are being overrun most of the times. Time and again we gave the ball away too cheaply. And we talk about experience! The hell with experience. Put some younger players in the midfield and let them run for 90 minutes. Put pressure on the opponent. Cannot stand our players looking at an opponent with the ball at his feet and doing nothing. Just try to close him down, put him under pressure, DO SOMETHING!

27 goals shipped in 14 matches. Thank heavens our defence is solid.

Agree doesn't make good reading but it isn't purely down to the defence. If the midfield upped their game (which they have done and we don't concede that many goals) it helps our defence. It's no good just blaming the defenders when they are being run ragged because the midfield haven't made it more difficult to get through.

Agree. Although this thread amuses me. We've only conceded 2 goals less in the past 7 games than we did in the first 7, even though everyone acknowledges that as a team we are playing much better now than pre-Liverpool, with the only change to the defence bring Rio dropped. So why is the 'midfield don't track back' reason being given now yet before it was all Rio's fault?!

get Mutch back in the midfield as he is younger and presumably more mobile.

As for the defence, Caulker was good last season, as he was whilst at Spurs and out on loan, so something must be wrong with the management and coaching at QPR.

But Matty, he was probably carrying an injury, hence his absence for much of the season so far.

He is worth another look now that he is fit again and then we will be better placed to have a more accurate opinion on him.

I think he has shown some promise Matty, and we need some younger legs in the midfield in which are present crop of 30-somethings are getting constantly overrun and losing their personal battles. The title of this thread is incorrect - the shambles is in midfield which thus failed to protect the back four sufficiently which lead to the inevitable goals against.

Because the defence, in my humble opinion, really is looking decent. ie Isla really getting to grips with Prem and change in position, Dunne solid, Caulker took a few games but starting to look like the future England regular he`s been touted as, Yun settled into prem like a duck to water.
Rio (to me and i`m not anti-Rio) looked like he`d been sat in the crowd and was asked to play last minute.
Really do think we`re missing Sandro and hate to say it but joey just is`nt quick enough so just lets players trot past him.

In January, we need three additions, and in this order: (1) a bona fide striker; (2) a bona fide RB; (3) a speedy midfielder who can pick up the pace of our entire game
