also a lot of well healed people in the game who have played at a top level. over all the verdict that i followed up on would have suggested that they were in for a battle for the season?? 90% of rangers thought we bought well the first time up under hughes-s ith happens and things change.

Southampton have believe in themselves and fear nobody. That's the key we lack. We simply invite opponents into our half.

To be fair, most of the pundits said the same. Just shows you though, what can be achieved as the OP says, with the addition of a bloody good manager. That news they were doing extra training before playing us contrasts markedly with seeing shots of Caulker in NYC recently during the international break, just one example of the apparently lax regime under Harold & co.

It's more than just the manager they have an excellent director of football (not an ex player like Ferdinand). Thee club has a structure and strategy so that players and managers fit in with what they want to achieve. Compare that to us who have no structure, a manager and Chairman who love publicity and appoint managers and staff for their media profile or because they used to play for us. Fernandes has to take a lot of blame but many on here celebrate when we employ an ex player such a Furlong or Ferdinand, it should never be about sentiment but their proven ability to do the job. Look at Furlong not doing great with the under 18, who could have predicted that!!!
