What about Rio. Just as much at fault. He has been a big disappointed IMO.

It's a close contest for poorer player this season. But, unlike Isla, Rio knows how to play in his position. Isla's positional play today was embarrassing. And it's not been good in his four performances.

Two men on you on the byline tight near your penalty box. I know mate, why dont you try a backheel nutmeg.

He is an experienced international and played in Serie A, surely he must know when is the right time to kick the ball out of play - his back heel attempt was pathetic.

Juve are not the world force they once were. Both our very poor full backs today have worn the stripes......

Selling Simpson, the club's ONLY specialist RB, seems like the most bizarre decision. I would love to hear their reasoning.

If the management don't have any sort of coherent strategy and make bizarre selections, it doesn't matter who plays.

If we're honest, the way the club is managed is an ongoing fiasco. Look at some of the dealings in the market place. You fail to learn from the club's recent history of buying at the 11th hour and start the season (again) with a bunch of players who barely recognise each other. You suddenly decide to build around a back three set up. You don't realise that a 3 must have some pace, and your midpark must close down and press. The result is chaos. You immediately abandon it, despite having based your purchases on the system. You don't have the confidence to play younger, more able defenders, preferring to rely on guys whose best days are history. You play a four, but you still ignore obvious selections (Yun, Ned). No wonder Isla looks lost, because he not a specialist full back, and sitting in a back four who play deep by default is not his strength. No one would buy him to play in that role. And so it goes on.

We may survive, but our club will not start looking like a football team on a consistent basis until Team Harry are gone. Southampton are interesting because they don't spend big, but they have a football culture and appoint quality, forward thinking staff. They get the concept of a long term future. We fly by the seat of our pants.

Juve fans were happy he left. Was worried about this be from the off and today only compounded those fears. Not looking good I must say.

Isla had a poor game today, proves that he is not a right back, people are blaming Isla Ferdinand has been much worse, how many balls should he have cut out that led to goals, Traore is no left back should be in midfield only if other players are injured, gives the ball away to easily, Ned and Yun have to come into the side, but everyone on here knows that won't happen, probably bring back Dunne or Hill.
Until TF comes to his senses and gets rid of Redknapp and his coaching team and get someone in that's forward thinking and gives youth a chance we are not going to progress.

Southampton have spent £202 million ! Over the last 5 years compared to our £135 million.

So not sure where the not spending big bit comes from

no idea at all why simpson was ever let go - i guess he wasnt flavour of the month with some people but on the pitch he was a solid consistent performer and thats what counts the most

The problem is Rio does not know how to man mark anymore and his positing is poor. Crouch ate him alive yesterday.
