I'm sure other managers probably brief the press on things they aren't prepared to field questions on before the press conference (i.e. Please don't bring up Malkay Mackay as it's difficult for me to give an honest opinion without it being misconstrued in the press.)Originally posted by DeepcutHoop View PostHarry doesn't know the phrase 'No comment', it's why the media love him.

B+Q have sale on Spades Shovels and Forks get down there then you can a real digOriginally posted by Tarbie View PostThis last week has been a bit of a strange one for Harry in the media. Yes, he has worked wonders in the transfer market this window.......I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised and I'm happy to take any "I told you so" type comments on the chin after being quite vocal about some of his signings last season.
Despite the positive press on the transfers we have pulled off there have also been a couple of weird moments. "I offered Gazza a job at QPR".......I mean seriously, what on earth is that about? Look at the photos of Gazza in the press this week, looks like the bloke could hardly manage making a cup of tea let alone making him responsible for mentoring our youth players.
Then there was the whole Malky Mackay thing. Whilst I don't necessarily disagree with too much of what Harry said, publicly backing someone who has just been outed as a racist is surely questionable behaviour to say the least. To my knowledge, every other manager in the Premier League has kept schtum about it, why does Harry feel the need to pipe up.
Am I over-reacting a bit here? Are these just examples of Harry trying to be a nice guy and helping out a couple of fellow professionals that have fallen on hard times, or is a bit dementia starting to set in?

Yup the glenn hoddle appointment was dinentia
The signings were dementia
The change of formation was dementia
Honestly sone people on here should work for the press as their reading of the situation and their jumping to ridiculous conclusions and then posting them publicly are deserving of the gutter press!

Come on mate, it's a message board. And if you read back at what I posted I started by saying that I was pleased with what Harry's done in the transfer window. Just questioning a couple of very odd comments and (perhaps misguidedly) putting them down to Harry's advancing years.Originally posted by Awin View PostYup the glenn hoddle appointment was dinentia

Well you're saying that what he's saying is a bit strange. Don't think he's said anything strange at all. He reasoned his points well. Gazza needs to change and he said he'd help and Malky needs a second chance, everyone makes mistakes. They're not exactly weird things to say. You're over reacting.

Fair enough, but if Harry's public support for Mackay isn't misguided or strange why is he the only Premier League manager out there prepared to comment on it? Racism is a very big deal in football these days, most managers are too smart to get involved in the whole debate!Originally posted by fisnik View PostWell you're saying that what he's saying is a bit strange. If you listen to his interview. When he got asked about it first thing he said is that Malky made a huge mistake but everyone does and it shouldn't be the end of his career. I don't think he went to support Malky, he was only answering questions put to him which he often does without a second thought, as he always has.Originally posted by Tarbie View PostFair enough, but if Harry's public support for Mackay isn't misguided or strange why is he the only Premier League manager out there prepared to comment on it? If we keep losing games, there will be more and more people saying that Harry has lost it. While in reality he could still be saner than you and me
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:
