As far as I know, once he rescinds the contract,he can't reverse his decision and forfeits his rights under the terms of the original agreement.

Maybe not quite the parasite some claimed he was then? Barton cd have done the same when he was desperate to stay at Marsailles and was adamant he wouldnt drop into the championship. But perhaps in the final analysis he - unlike Cesear - liked the money just a bit too much. I appreciate this doesnt fit the popular narrative...

Quite. I've yet to understand why somebody can be called a parasite for picking up their pay cheque. Don't we all do that?!

Always ready, willing, and able to play, just not picked. Not his fault. And always played hard when picked.

I reckon that 100k we keep seeing quoted is based on apprenices and bonuses etc and that's why he has hardly had a game. The real comparison for benfica to cover would be a lower basic figure.

Hogan is the other good example of this. Lost his place in November 2010 and was still kicking around until this summer. That's four years on loan or on the bench (if that), while earning far more than he'll get from his next contract (most likely in league 1).

And yet no one on here ever called him a parasite, money-grabber etc.

                        Why should he?

Do you make a habit of walking away from millions that you're owed just so your (already very rich) employer can save a bit of money?

Harry was saying on his column in the paper today he will deffo get another keeper to challenge green for the number one spot when cesar leaves.

Listening to talksport this morning and they said ceasar has agreed to join benfica but then they followed this up with him receiving a very large payoff and talked about how morally wrong these type of players are.
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

                                No surprises there then!

Hopefully we have learned our lesson regarding the contracts we are offering now. Surely there can only be a few left (perhaps Hoilett, Barton and Remy) with stupid contracts if Cesar has moved on?!!
