Thanks, what a goal!Originally posted by Rangers77 View Post
Exactly West, a very good squad player to come off the bench when needing to hang on, plus wages are not that high as well. Also correct about Hill and Dunne and why we need an extra CB, what if our main CB gets injured, I don't want them playing a full 90 mins.Originally posted by West Acton View PostHes certainly not going to set the prem alight but just like Bobby will have his part to play from the bench with 30mins to go the same will apply to Henry. if were hanging on with 20mins to go who do you want coming off the bench Adel or Henry
If the argument is we should see off Henry because he is not prem class then unfortunately the same applies to Hill and Dunne so we need to add another two defenders to our wanted list
We need to look at the bigger picture Palace done alright last season with a team of Karl Henrys as did Norwich the season they went up every team needs foot soldiers as well as generals

In that scenario, Henry - BUT normally there's more than 2 on the bench, even if 2 have been used - Why does it have to be between them 2 only ?
AND
If we are losing with 20 mins left (which is much more likely), I'd want Adel !

Whilst I see some value in him we still have to look to the future therfore we would be mugs to disregard useing him him as a makewieght in a deal for Fer if thats what Norwich askes forOriginally posted by californiahoop View PostLol, I don't do cryptic, I was agreeing with the assessment of the value of Henry.

But he provides a particular service equally in the opposite scenario Adel would be a suitable replacement but I was specifically talking about holding on in a game. Outside of Barton don't think we have another holding/defensive midfielder in the squad to go into the season without that option on the bench (be it Henry or someone else) would in my opinion not be sensibleOriginally posted by QPR1976 View PostIn that scenario, Henry - BUT normally there's more than 2 on the bench, even if 2 have been used - Why does it have to be between them 2 only ?

Exactly the point I am making. When he played in the Championship, the little amount that he did, he wasn't great and cost us games and points. He couldn't do his job right in the second tier of english football so how some think he'll do a job at the next level up against the Worlds best is beyond me.Originally posted by SammyKojoe View PostNot sure where this Henry loving is coming from? No point in being a useful squad player if you are nowhere near good enough to play any part in games. Before anyone pipes up and says he can do a job for any amount of time on the pitch - he is barely good enough to come on in games at Championship level. If he played for us in the Premier League he would get run rings round.

Still waiting for you to provide the examples of the games and points he cost us; so far you have said Burnley and given no other examples. Can you enlighten us about the other points he cost us that you have referred too on more then one occasion????? your silence so far when asked on this says as much as your initial comment on the subjectOriginally posted by Dazzer1977 View PostExactly the point I am making. Henry wasn't a very good squad player in Championship?? He too slow on the ball, has the turning circle of a tug boat, gets caugh in pocession of the ball and his passing over 15 yards is subject to debate. How does that make him a very good squad player given we are now a Premiership side? I certainly wouldn't have any confidence taking Joey to bring him on as a replacement.Originally posted by MYU View PostThanks, what a goal!

As for the comment about wages, he's on shed loads of cash for what he brings to the side. Wolves got shot of him because his wages were collosal for a League 1 side as he was on his old Premiership contract.

Examples of him costing us points and games at home please Dazzer??? silence is golden and unless you can provide them to back your statement up your going to look rather silly like you did in your boom threadOriginally posted by Dazzer1977 View PostHenry wasn't a very good squad player in Championship??
